Born from a creative spirit in the heart of a coastal city, POY emerges as a fresh face bringing a distinct vibration to Indonesia's urban music landscape. As both a singer and rapper, POY does more than just perform; she is a seamless blend of soulful vocal harmonies and authentic lyrical precision.
The Journey with Project Qiu
POY’s major breakthrough began when she officially joined Project Qiu, a legendary hip-hop collective from Cirebon with a legacy spanning over a decade. Under the visionary mentorship of Tabib Qiu—a music industry veteran renowned for his work with the group Soul ID—POY has transformed into a formidable talent to be reckoned with.
For POY, Project Qiu is more than just a musical home; it is a crucible (kawah candradimuka). Here, she learned to look beyond the pursuit of popularity, focusing instead on weaving cultural acculturation and integrity into every verse she writes. Direct guidance from Tabib Qiu has molded her into an artist who possesses industry discipline while maintaining profound artistic honesty.
The Debut: "MIXED SIGNAL"
The year 2026 marks a new chapter in her career. With her debut single titled "MIXED SIGNAL" (set for release on February 12, 2026), POY is ready to showcase the full duality of her craft.
The track serves as a definitive representation of her musical identity: dynamic, bold, yet sophisticated. "MIXED SIGNAL" is not merely an introduction; it is a declaration that the voice of Cirebon is ready to resonate on a much grander scale.
"For me, music is a way to communicate without barriers. With Project Qiu, I found the courage to voice what has been hidden within these mixed signals all this time." — POY
